Our sustainability strategy
Our goal is to transform your real estate into assets that are designed to be sustainable in every way.
We are one of the first real estate service providers that has included ESG (Environment – Social – Governance) criteria in our entire portfolio. Since 2012, we have held the GRESB classification (Global Real Estate Sustainability Benchmark) and can fully implement a GRESB review process for client portfolios.
In this respect, particularly in property management, we are required to act as data collectors and data processors. ESG aspects need to be systematically integrated into the organisational and operational structure. Accordingly, we have implemented specialised sustainability managers in our organisation. At the same time, we geared our software systems to the systematic storage of sustainability data at an early stage.
We cooperate with Predium, the platform for sustainable real estate management. Here, we use Predium’s ESG Cockpit to obtain a transparent and holistic overview of the properties’ ESG performance. With the Predium Action Engine, it is possible to evaluate at the push of a button which modernisation measures should best be carried out, when and for which properties, in order to optimise the profitability of the respective asset and the overall portfolio. This also takes into account upcoming changes in the law, costs and funding opportunities for refurbishment measures.
But we do not only pay attention to sustainability in the real estate portfolios entrusted to us. We assume advanced, holistic responsibility for our environment and the well-being of future generations.
In times when land is becoming increasingly scarce in Germany, the redevelopment and revitalisation of brownfield sites have the highest sustainability value. In this respect, we have joined the German Brownfield Association in order to remove contaminated sites and effectively protect green spaces from new sealing.
We have been implementing various aspects in our everyday office life, which are regularly evaluated and optimised by a team of several employees. These include, among others:

- Organic and fair trade food
- Exchange platform for employees
- Consistent waste separation
- Use of more environmentally friendly detergents
- Valon Health Benefit System for employess an their families with over 300 health offers
We are aware of our social responsibility as a company (Corporate Social Responsibility). Every year we organise a Valon CSR Day, where our employees volunteer for a social project. Regional projects and institutions are supported, such as the painting campaign at Mädchenhaus Soest or the company charity run at Lake Möhne.
